STANDARD TERST METHOD FOR BURNING QUALITY OF KEROSENE – ASTM D 187


This test method covers the qualitative determination of the burning properties of kerosene to be illuminating purposes.

The kerosene sample is burned for 16 h in a specified conditions. The average rate of burning, the change in the shape of the flame, and the density and color of the chimney deposit are reported.


APPARATUS CONSIST OF :
01 Lamp Assembly Lamp Tank Diameter 165Ф, 92 mm height, wick Guide 19 x 3.2
02 Glass Chimney Height 190 mm
03 Sight Gage Height 469 mm, A suitable flame measuring device, accurate to 1 mm.
04 Wick 19 mm Paraffin flat, weighing 15 g/m.
