This test apparatus is used for method which covers the determination of the tendency of lubricating grease to separate oil during storage in both normally filled and partially filled containers. Lubricating grease is semi-fluid to solid product of a thickener in a liquid lubricant. The dispersion of the thickener forms a two-phase system and immobilizes the liquid lubricant by surface tension and other physical forces.

APPARATUS CONSIST OF

Test cups with cover	SS mfg., tight fitting with cover having hole, specifications as per standard.
Sieving system	Sieve strainer for supporting the grease, a funnel for collecting separated oil, beaker.
Air supply assembly	Flow regulator, pressure gauge, air filter, moisture trap, tubing.
Base plate and stand	Base plate with grooves, stand, etc.
Recommended spares	Heating assembly (optional), ASTM 12 C Thermometer, Sieve strainer, etc.
