This test method covers the determination of an automotive engine oil is homogeneous and will remain so, and if it is miscible with certain standard reference oils after being submitted to a prescribed cycle of temperature changes.

The equipment consists of two main sections :

APPARATUS CONSIST OF :

Oven (Heating Chamber)	It is electrically heated having temperature range from ambient up to 250°C.
Cooling Chamber	It consists of two stage compressor system having temperature range ambient to -50°C.
Accessories	Accessories consists of test jars specially designed having dimensions and specifications as per given in standard. The jar is enclosed metallic jar with specified dimensions. The test jar dimensions are about 34.0 mm outside diameter and 120 mm height. Inside diameter is about 31.00 mm.
Control Panel	Both the oven and cooling chamber are controlled by common control panel which is embedded touch button control system. The purpose of the control panel is mainly as a temperature controller, time and temperature data logging, safety control etc. The temperature of the test sample is maintained at desired level using the 7” Touchscreen controller. The touchscreen communicates with two separate controller each consisting separate controlling assembly with separate switches for heaters, indicating LEDs for heaters, temperature indicator with set point and actual display, etc. The temperature is settable on the Touchscreen. A main ON/OFF MCB is provided on the backside.
