Flash and Fire Point Apparatus – ASTM D 92 / IP 36

This test method describes the determination of the flash point of petroleum products. A brass test cup of specified dimension, filled to the inside mark with test sample is heated at specified rates, by defined procedures. An ignition source is directed into the test cup at regular intervals until a flash is detected. The operating range of this device is from ambient to 350oC.


APPARATUS CONSIST OF :
Test Cup Made of brass with flange arrangement and ebonite handle.
Heating Assembly 500 W coiled tubular heater house ammeter monitoring for power used in well insulated. Aluminium casting with ammeter monitoring for power usage.
Temperature Control 0.1oC resolution digital temperature indicator with rheostatic controller, Pt100 RTD sensing device.
Test Flame Applicator Motorized test flame applicator with to and fro sweep and sweep speed as per standard specified in the standard. Orifice diameter and radius of sweep as per standard.
Ignition Device Electronic push button ignitor for igniting test flame
Cooling fan High RPM metallic cooling fan for accelerated cooling of the test samples.
Enclosure Sturdy mild steel powdered coated enclosure with matte finish and aesthetic design.
Safety Well insulated heating element with safety thermostat for preventing temperature overrun. 5 Amp safety fuse for protection against overcurrent and shortcircuit.
Physical Specifications 300mm (L) x 200mm (B) x 200mm (H), weight 25 KG.
